Downtown LA has its moments!

A pleasant stroll through downtown Los Angeles, where people who talk to themselves in microphones are a fairly common sight really...

Philly Camp CogKnitive is still in planning stages--no date yet. Hotel and other suggestions welcome.

Raleigh, NC Camp Cog is a definite maybe...

What's On My Hooks, Needles, and Spindles:

Not yet finished:

Beachy Shawl for Camp Cog Cam--I'm on the second ball of yarn in Just Beachy from Dizzy Blonde Studios.
The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller--no work on this one.
One Row Lace Scarf--still in time out
The Blueberry Waffle Socks in colorway Witchwind from Forbidden Woolery --still on the second sock
Halloween Linen Stitch Cowl--mu current potato chip knitting standby.

Tutorial for the After-Thought Heel is here.

Dizzy Blondes:

I am sporadically still working on a silk-merino blend from Red Fish Dye Works on my 2 Ashford wheels. Here are my favorite online sources for spinning supplies and wheel parts:
Village Spin & Weave
Webs Yarn Store
The Woolery

Strategy:
When you get stuck, get out of it by starting with making small changes.

Put a Lid On It:

The kitchen is quiet, due to 100F heat.

Aw Shoot!
Still running indoors on the elliptical. Based on a recent study, running on the treadmill is only marginally better than using an elliptical to burn calories.

Summer Running Essentials:
Please remember to hydrate you and any running pals.
Important facts:
one gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds
Any mammal can carry only up to one quarter of its weight.

Ruffwear backpacks for dogs.

Something I Really Like:

Gather DTLA--an LYS with a lively Instagram feed in Downtown LA, run by my new friend Renaissance of Raghouse International Studios. Here is their FB. The store is at 453 S Spring, downtown L.A.

I'm at Gather in LA in the Last Bookstore at 5th & Spring, 2nd floor. Here is Renaissance, your hostess. She is wonderful so visit her!

Blather:
CFR6 (of course). We have 1 or 2 spaces left as of this writing. The hotel issue is still in flux, but there is some clarification. The rate will be $89.90 per night.

Clarification on the Open Carry Issue.

LA's historic and pretty Union Station

Visit Olvera Street!
You can see my pics of my Los Angeles wanderings here and on Instagram, where I am drgemma.

Here is my vote for complete bad taste in public...erections... it's in the financial district...

#100happydays my vote for "makes me shriek with laughter every time I walk past it". The tribute to who is in charge erected (sorry) in downtown LA next to several major banks.
