Not yet finished:
The OHM Shawl by Michelle Miller .
One Row Lace Scarf
The Blueberry Waffle Socks in colorway Witchwind from Forbidden Woolery. The pattern looks like this:
CO 56
1-1 rib for 2 inches
row 1-2: knit
row 3-4: K2P2
The Linen Stitch Cowl
CO 288 stitches--really, you need to CO an odd nuber to really make this work.
5 rows in ST St
K1, yarn to front, slip 1, move yarn to back. Slip as if to purl.
When enough rows, do 5 more rows of St st and bind off.

The Leftie

Tutorial for the After-Thought Heel is here.
The Yarnover Truck ladies are vendors at and Friends of the CogKnitive Fiber Retreat and I am delighted to promote their fine products!

Dizzy Blondes:
No spinning, due to sinus issues.

Strategy:
Manage your body without letting its size dominate your self-image. If your body feels wrong, fix it, but that does not mean self-hate is okay.Meanwhile, ignore the jerks--they should not have the right to drag you down, so don't let them.

Put a Lid On It:
See the Pinterest account for the Kale salad recipe. Homemade strawberry freezer jam is done for the year. More strawberries are on tap in my freezer to make the canned jam later this summer. Freezeing fruit is a fine way to help break down cell walls and make fruit more easily crushed for jam.
Currently in season: cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, early apricots.

Aw Shoot!
Weight loss has slowed as I add muscle in my upper body. I've reached a moment in my plan where other people are telling me how different I look. Ah, the payoff of sticking with the program for a few months.
Runners World tells me that I could train for a half marathon. They have some good training schedules at www.runnersworld.com.

Summer Running Essentials:
Please remember to hydrate you and any running pals.
Important facts:
one gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds
Any mammal can carry only up to one quarter of its weight.

Ruffwear backpacks for dogs.

Something I Really Like:
Amy Herzog's Fit to Flatter program. I had the ladies of the Yarnover Truck do my measurements.
Icracked--get your Ipod/Ipad/IPhone repaired after all!
Mophie--a charger that is also a case for your IPhone--and a GOOD case

Blather:
Retzlaff recap! I did not take my wheel this year, and I enjoyed the sensation of lightness, since I did not have to haul it around.
Andy's Candy--pecan-coffee-dark chocolate toffee is fantastic. But no link. ;-(
The lesson in how to fit a Western saddle for Roxy/Tirion Du and saddling the fence. Dogs + pony = some tense moments.

A visit with the ladies of the Yarnover Truck. Their schedule is here, but you can also get it emailed to you and like them on Facebook.
